Photovoltaics and
Green Roofing combined

Renovation of Schwabgut Gymnasium with the Innovative greenlight System

The flat roof of the Schwabgut gymnasium was completely renovated and equipped with the environmentally friendly greenlight system from Contec equipped. This system involves the use of trays made from recycled HDPE (high-density polyethylene), which are carefully laid out. The mounting structure is then installed, forming the base for the photovoltaic system.

After preparing the base structure, the substrate is blown onto the roof using a blower. This substrate is important not only for stabilizing the solar modules but also for greening the roof. It contains seeds that allow small plants to grow on the roof surface. This greenery helps improve roof insulation while also providing a habitat for various insect species.

In the final step, the solar modules are installed, which, combined with the green roof, ensure sustainable energy production while improving the microclimate around the gymnasium. This innovative concept combines the benefits of renewable energy with ecological roof greening, offering a sustainable solution for urban building spaces.
